About

Peter is Portfolio Manager for the SME Loans Fund and is responsible for monitoring debt investments across the North West.

Based in Mercia's Preston office, he has worked closely with ambitious SMEs, management teams and advisers to provide funding for growth, acquisitions, buyouts, refinancing and working capital requirements.

Since joining Mercia in 2014, Peter has supported a wide range of businesses across sectors including manufacturing, professional services, technology, healthcare and consumer products. He has helped deploy funding to businesses throughout the North West region, enabling them to accelerate growth, create jobs and achieve their strategic objectives.

Previous experience

Prior to joining Mercia, Peter spent over 35 years with Barclays PLC, where he held a variety of senior roles supporting SME and corporate clients.

Working with businesses across both the public and private sectors, he developed extensive experience in relationship management, credit assessment and strategic funding solutions.

This experience has given Peter a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges faced by growing businesses and the importance of providing flexible funding and long-term support to help management teams achieve their ambitions.
