Ian joined Mercia Business Loans in 2026 as an Investment Manager in the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II team. He has over 35 years’ experience in Corporate and Commercial Banking and is focused on supporting SMEs to achieve their growth plans and to fulfil their potential. He mainly covers the Sheffield City Region and the wider South Yorkshire towns.
Previous experience
Ian joined Yorkshire Bank in Sheffield from University where he studied Economics. He joined Lloyds Bank in 2001 and has worked in a wide variety of roles across all the major towns and cities in South & West Yorkshire. For over 25 years he has been a frontline Relationship Manager / Business Development manager, working with businesses and their owners, so he understands the challenges faced in both good and tough economic cycles. Ian is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
